Amsterdam Icons 2014

Price Reduced – $4.00 while supplies last

The Historic Amsterdam League is pleased to offer Amsterdam Icons 2014, the third in a series of annual calendars from HAL.  Amsterdam Icons 2014 is a full color 12 month wall size (11″ x 17″) calendar featuring monthly illustrations of Amsterdam houses of worship from the past and present.  The historic images selected to appear on the 2014 HAL calendar are iconic in their representation of Amsterdam, images which are symbols of the faith and hope and belief and pride of the many peoples that came together to create this city and make it their home.  Some of Amsterdam’s icons in these pages have survived, and provide us with a tangible link to our past; others survive only as fading memories.  Accompanying each month’s picture is a brief paragraph providing relevant information and historical facts; the two-page centerfold contains a photo feature of additional Amsterdam churches, many now lost to time and progress.  Scattered throughout the monthly date listings, in addition to the usual holidays and observances, are important, entertaining, and often little known dates from local history – the Hurricana Farm fire, the dedication of the New Amsterdam Bridge, the death of Stephen Sanford.

Amsterdam Icons 2014 may be purchased directly from HAL by mailing your order and payment to the Historic Amsterdam League, PO Box 132, Amsterdam, N.Y. 12010.  Calendars are available while supplies last for $4.00 each – quite a bargain for a historic tour of Amsterdam from the early 20th Century and enough trivia to win a friendly bet or two.  First-class postage and handling is an additional $2.50 per calendar.

Amsterdam Icons 2013
